We worked with Farmers NZ to design and install a building management system that generates efficiencies, meets targets and realises cost savings.

Labtest NZ is Auckland’s leading pathology service provider.

Labtest NZ asked BTL to design and implement a building management system with a focus on reliability of data acquisition, precise space conditioning control and prioritised alarm response.

BTL designed a highly integrated BMS for Labtest NZ. The system allows for simultaneous user access via a web-based application so that users can access the system virtually anywhere, at anytime.

We also installed an alarm reporting system whereby critical alarms are instantly communicated via email, SMS text or mobile phone. Alarms are attended to quickly and efficiently. This reduces downtime, increases efficiency and minimises the risk of faults.

Westfield NZ has five large department stores nationwide. BTL provides a building management system service and support to all Westfield centres throughout New Zealand.

We use a variety of control brands, such as Alerton, Schneider Electric, Honeywell and Siemens. The priority for BTL was to standardise on cost saving procedures that could be applied to all centres irrespective of the control brand used.

Cost saving procedures include: customer training, energy saving techniques, user friendly graphical navigation, alarm response and preventative maintenance.

These procedures are standardised to create a service platform against which centre performances could be measured.

BTL is the BMS control service provider for the University of Auckland.

We designed and installed a customised BMS solution for the University using Siemens equipment and technology. The BMS allows the University’s property services staff to manage the BMS from any one of the 14,000 workstations on campus or remotely.

BTL successfully integrated the BMS with the University’s existing systems (some of which were over 30 years old) to provide a seamless user experience.

We continue to provide design advice, engineering resources, commissioning resources and a 24/7 service response service to the University.
